Azure Private Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) (formerly known as Azure Private Edge Zones) combines network functions, applications, and edge-optimized Azure services to deliver a broad portfolio of high performance, ultra-low latency solutions that address the modern business needs of enterprise customers. Azure's global cloud platform, connectivity and ecosystem of partners and application developers allows operators and systems integrators to offer these enterprise solutions as fully managed services across a broad range of compute platforms. Azure Private MEC with a cloud-native orchestration solution allows SD-WAN customers to manage their VeloCloud Edges from the Azure portal. VeloCloud Edges are deployed on Azure Private MEC at customer's branches. The VeloCloud Edges on Azure Private MEC provide zero-touch enterprise-class appliances that provide secure optimized connectivity to private, public and hybrid applications, compute, and virtualized services. VeloCloud Edges on Azure Private MEC perform deep application recognition, application and packet steering, performance metrics and end to end quality of service. VeloCloud SD-WAN assures enterprise and cloud application performance over Internet and hybrid WAN while simplifying deployments and reducing costs.
