Upgrading and Downgrading CloudEOS Software

This section discusses the upgradeand downgrade procedures.

Upgrading and Downgrading AWE-7200R and CloudEOS Router Software

Upgrade or downgrade the AWE-7200R and CloudEOS router images by copying the desired SWI file to /mnt/flash.AWE-7200R uses the EOS.swi (64-bit only) and CloudEOS uses CloudEOS.swi (64-bit only). For more information, refer https://www.arista.com/en/um-eos upgrades-and-downgrades.

Note: While upgrading your existing router image to CloudEOS Router image, use .swi as the file extension.

Note: Starting from EOS 4.23, do not upgrade the CloudEOSrouter using the hardware EOS SWI software or vice versa.

Appliance Upgrade

You can upgrade the appliance using the Appendix E - Tools to Manage and Update Images section in the Arista AWE-7200R and CloudEOS router Router Appliance Guide guide for steps to upgrade CVA. All DCA-200-vEOS scripts under /data/imaging/ and /data/tool/ During the CVA upgrade process directories also upgrade. A newly created directory named with the current CVA version under both /data/imaging/ and /data/tool/, for example, /data/imaging/2.1.2/ and /data/imaging/2.1.2/. Older versions of the scripts moved to that version directory. Newer versions of the scripts copy directly to /data/imaging/ and /data/tool/tool.

After a system reboot from the last step of the upgrade, the AWE-7200R and CloudEOS router instances become active and run automatically after the appliance returns to an active status. Allow 20 minutes for the application running in AWE-7200R and CloudEOS router instances to be accessible again.

Note: The DCA-200-vEOS supports CVA upgrade from 2.1.2 to afterward releases.
