Perform Remote Actions

Users can perform actions such as restarting services, rebooting, or deactivating Edge remotely from the Enterprise portal. The Orchestrator permits remote actions only on Edges in a Connected state.

To perform remote actions:

  1. In the Enterprise portal, select the Shortcuts option available on the Configure > Edges or Monitor > Edges pages.
    See the topics Configure Edge Overrides and Monitor Edges, in the Arista VeloCloud Administration Guide.
  2. In the Shortcuts menu, select Remote Actions to open the Remote Actions dialog.

  3. Perform the following actions:

    Action Description
    Identify Randomly flash lights on the selected Edge to identify the device.
    Restart Service Restart the VeloCloud SD-WAN services on the selected Edge.
    Reboot Reboot the selected Edge.
    Shutdown Power off the selected Edge. To restore the Edge, remove the power cable, and then plug it back into the Edge.
    Deactivate Reset the device configuration to its factory default state.
    Force HA Failover Force HA Failover. This option appears only when the Edge operates in a High Availability configuration with an HA Ready status.
    Note: The actions may take up to a minute to run on the device.
