Jayshree V. Ullal
Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson
As CEO and Chairperson of Arista, Jayshree Ullal is responsible for Arista's business and thought leadership in AI and cloud networking. She led the company to a historic and successful IPO in June 2014 from zero to a multibillion-dollar business. Formerly Jayshree was Senior Vice President at Cisco, responsible for a $10B business in datacenter, switching and services. With more than 40 years of networking experience, she is the recipient of numerous awards including E&Y's "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 2015, Barron's "World's Best CEOs" in 2018 and one of Fortune's "Top 20 Business persons" in 2019.
Jayshree holds a B.S. in Engineering (Electrical) and an M.S. degree in engineering management. She is a recipient of the SFSU and SCU Distinguished Alumni Awards in 2013 and 2016.
Andy Bechtolsheim
Founder and Chief Architect
Andreas "Andy" Bechtolsheim is Co-Founder and Chief Architect of Arista Networks. He is responsible for advanced AI, silicon and optics initiatives. Previously Andy was a Co-Founder and Chief System Architect at Sun Microsystems, responsible for next generation server, storage, and network architectures.
Andy received a M.S. in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1976 and was a doctoral student in Computer Engineering at Stanford University from 1977 to 1982. He has been honored with a Fulbright scholarship, the Stanford Entrepreneur Company of the year award, the Smithsonian Leadership Award for Innovation, the EY 2015 US Entrepreneur of the Year Award (together with Jayshree Ullal) and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Chantelle Breithaupt
Chief Financial Officer
Chantelle Breithaupt serves as Chief Financial Officer at Arista, with a proven track record of both financial leadership and business acumen. With over 25 years of global financial roles, Chantelle brings a breadth of experience in both medium and large cap companies, across industrial and software industries. Prior to joining the leadership team of Arista, Chantelle served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Aspen Technology. Prior to that she had executive finance roles at Cisco Systems, and across four GE businesses.
In addition to her CFO role, Chantelle is committed to being an ally for the initiatives of diversity, equality, and inclusion. This has been recognized by institutions such as DiversityFirst, YWCA Silicon Valley and the Multiplier Effect Initiative which focuses on the promotion and proximity to diverse employees.
Chantelle Breithaupt holds an Honours in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University (Canada). She is a graduate of GE’s Financial and Managerial Executive leadership programs.
Kenneth Duda
Founder, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Software Engineering
Kenneth Duda is a pioneer in high-performance networking software, lead architect of Arista’s EOS Network Data Lake (NetDL) and drives Network as a Service (NAAS) initiatives across Arista’s products. He is also the co-author of network virtualization specifications including VXLAN with VMware and NVGRE with Microsoft. From 2005 to 2008, Ken was also the Acting President of Arista Networks.
Prior to joining Arista Networks, Ken was the CTO at There.com, where he played a lead role in designing a real-time 3-D distributed system that scaled to thousands of simultaneous users. Ken was also the first employee of Granite Systems and led the software development effort for the Catalyst 4000 product line after the acquisition by Cisco.
Ken has 3 simultaneous engineering degrees from MIT and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Mark Foss
Senior Vice President, Global Operations & Marketing
A 20 year networking industry veteran, Mark Foss joined Arista Networks in 2007. He is responsible for Arista's global sales operations, field marketing and business planning. Previously, Mark was Vice President of International Sales at Arista. Prior to that he was Director of Product Management at Cisco Systems, overseeing the Catalyst 4500 and 4900 product lines where he managed marketing and channel operations for the Catalyst 5000 and 6500.
Originally from Canada, Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.
Hugh Holbrook
Chief Development Officer
Hugh Holbrook leads the development of AI and cloud platforms, system software and Arista’s participation in the UEC (Ultra Ethernet Consortium). At Arista since 2005, he has led the development of many of the foundations of Arista's EOS. Before Arista, he worked at Cisco and played a key role in the software and hardware evolution of the Catalyst 4500. He is the inventor of Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), chaired the IETF working group that standardized it, and has authored multiple RFCs including the PIM-SM protocol spec. He holds eight patents in networking, systems, and hardware design.
Hugh has a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from Stanford University in Computer Science.
Ashwin Kohli
Chief Customer Officer
Ashwin Kohli has over 20 years experience in the networking field and managing large teams. He has been at Arista since 2011 and is responsible for global systems engineering, customer support and advanced professional services for customer advocacy. Prior to joining Arista, Ashwin ran large global network teams at companies such as BNP Paribas, Merrill Lynch, and ABN AMRO.
Ashwin holds a B.S. in Computer Science & Accounting from Manchester University, United Kingdom.
John McCool
Chief Platform Officer, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations
John McCool is responsible for Arista's platforms including hardware, engineering, diagnostics, customer and manufacturing operations. John brings over 35 years of executive and networking experience, including recent roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager at EMC, CEO of Firetide and 17 years at Cisco systems in engineering management. He joined Cisco in 1996 via the acquisition of Granite Systems, rising to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Datacenter switching and services. John has held key engineering roles at SynOptics, NeXT Computer, and Advanced Micro Devices. He holds several patents related to network technologies.
John holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.
Christopher Schmidt
Chief Sales Officer
A 20-year networking industry veteran, Christopher Schmidt joined Arista Networks in 2008 as a Sales Director and was responsible for the company's growth in low latency financial services. He now drives worldwide sales and customer engagement for the company across global regions and non cloud verticals. Prior to Arista, Chris was a Client Director at Cisco Systems responsible for global sales at key financial institutions. Previously, Chris was a sales consultant for minimally invasive procedures at Boston Scientific.
Chris holds a B.S. in Marketing and Management from Siena College.
Marc Taxay
Senior Vice President, General Counsel
Marc Taxay joined Arista in 2013 and serves as the company's General Counsel. Marc is responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of Arista including commercial transactions, intellectual property, corporate governance, securities and compliance. Prior to joining Arista, Marc served as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of MedeAnalytics, Inc., a healthcare analytics company, and the Assistant General Counsel of Coremetrics, Inc., a digital marketing company. Marc also worked as a partner at Cohen & Grigsby and a senior associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Marc has a B.A. and J.D. from The University of Michigan.
Kelly Battles
Board Member
Kelly Bodnar Battles has over 30 years of finance and strategy leadership experience including serving as CFO at Alpha Medical, Quora, Bracket Computing and Host Analytics, Vice President of Finance at IronPort Systems, Chief of Staff to the CFO of Cisco Systems, and Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Hewlett Packard. Kelly also worked as an Associate at both McKinsey and J.P. Morgan.
Kelly is currently on the Board and the Audit Committee Chair of Genesys, Clari, DataStax and Alpha Medical, and has also served on the Board and as Audit Committee Chair of the Wikimedia Foundation (owner of Wikipedia.org) in the past. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, both with honors.
Lewis Chew
Board Member
Lewis Chew is the former CFO of Dolby Laboratories for 9 years, where he oversaw the company's finances as well as IT, manufacturing, supply chain, and global facilities. Prior to that, he served as the CFO for National Semiconductor for over 10 years until it was acquired by Texas Instruments. He has been recognized five times as one of America's best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine in its annual ranking. Before joining National Semiconductor, Lewis was a partner at KPMG LLP, serving numerous technology and financial institution clients.
Lewis is currently on the Board of Cadence Design Systems and is Chair of the Audit Committee. He also served on the Board of PG&E for nearly 10 years, chairing two committees during a portion of that time. He holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Santa Clara University.

Charles Giancarlo

Charles Giancarlo is Chairman and CEO of Pure Storage. He has a three-decade track record of driving growth and innovation at leading global technology companies. Previously Charlie served as Senior Advisor at Silver Lake Partners, as well as Managing Director and Head of Value Creation. Prior to Silver Lake, Charlie served in senior executive roles at Cisco Systems, including CTO and Chief Development Officer, and was a leader of Cisco's multi-product, multi-market growth strategy, driving entry into new markets.
He currently serves on the boards of Pure Storage and Zscaler, is a Trustee of Brown University and an advisor to the UC Berkeley School of Engineering. He is a former board member of Accenture, Avaya, Imperva, Netflix, and ServiceNow. Charlie holds a B.S. in engineering from Brown University, a M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Dan Scheinman
Board Member
Dan Scheinman is an angel investor, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dan was the first investor in Zoom Video Communications, an early investor in SentinelOne and Treasure Data (sold to ARM). He currently serves on the boards of Zoom Video Communications and SentinelOne. In addition, Dan has made a number of early investments in SaaS, security and infrastructure. Prior to that, Dan was a SVP at Cisco Systems and worked there for 18 years.
Mark Templeton
Board Member
As a seasoned high tech executive, Mark Templeton brings CEO and enterprise-scale software expertise to the board. Mark was an executive of Citrix Systems, a global provider of software solutions, from January 1995 until his retirement in October 2015, serving as president, CEO and member of the board. During his tenure, Citrix grew from $15 million to over $3B in revenue, and 9,000 employees.
Mark presently serves on the board of directors of Health Catalyst, a data and analytics technology company. He is a former board member of Equifax and Keysight Technologies. He holds a B.A. in product design from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Yvonne Wassenaar

Yvonne Wassenaar has an extensive background in cloud infrastructure and currently serves as a board member for Forrester, a research and advisory company, Rubrik, a private data security company and JFrog, a software development company. Previously, Yvonne was the CEO of Puppet, an information technology automation software company and prior to that she was the CEO of Airware, an enterprise drone solutions company. In Yvonne’s time at New Relic, a cloud-based observability platform company, she held the position of CIO. She has served as a board member for Anaplan, Inc., a cloud-based business planning software company, and Mulesoft, an integration platform for SOA, SaaS, and APIs.
She has also served on the boards of private and non-profit institutions. Yvonne holds a B.A. in economics with a specialization in computing from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Business.
Isabelle Bertin-Bailly
Group Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources & Operations
Group Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources & Operations, Isabelle Bertin-Bailly oversees the Global Human Resources Organization at Arista. Prior to Arista, she served as HR Leader for Cisco Systems' Datacenter Switching and Security Technology Group, supporting a Global Workforce of 2,000 employees with a focus on employee engagement, talent, leadership development and organizational effectiveness. She brings over 20 years of experience in high technology from roles at Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems, Kealia Inc., acquired by Sun Microsystems, Confluence Networks Inc., and Granite Systems, acquired by Cisco Systems.
Isabelle holds a B.S. in Sociology from Santa Clara University and a Graduate Certificate in Industrial /Organizational Psychology from Golden Gate University. She also has 2 degrees in Mathematics /Physics /Chemistry, and in Business Administration from Paris, France.
Ed Chapman
Vice President Business Development and Strategic Alliances
As Vice President of Business Development and Alliances, Ed Chapman joins Arista with over 20 years of networking experience within the Data Center, Switching and Cloud markets. Prior to Arista, Ed held the position of Vice President of New Products and Cloud Strategy at Riverbed Technology and previously worked for Cisco Systems where he was Vice President of Product Management for the Nexus Data Center Switching and MDS Storage networking product lines. Ed has also developed strategic marketing alliances with EMC/VMware, IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Verizon, AT&T, and Amazon Web Services.
Ed received his B.S. in Business Administration, Systems Analysis and Design from San Diego State University-California State University.
Martin Hull
Vice President and General Manager, Cloud and AI Platforms
As Vice President of Cloud and Platform Product Management, Martin Hull is responsible for the product management of the data center and routing product lines and for the cloud scale customers, as well as associated Systems Engineering and Sales teams. He has been at Arista since 2011, and has over 30 years experience of networking technology, having spent 13 years at Cisco in both Systems Engineering and Product Management roles, where he was part of the team that developed the Nexus product lines, before which he was at Unisys and Olivetti Solutions in the UK.
Originally from the UK, Martin holds a B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Coventry University (formerly known as Coventry Polytechnic).
Rahul Kashyap
Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, Cybersecurity
Rahul is responsible for Arista's global cybersecurity initiatives. He has a proven track record of establishing and building disruptive security technologies for over two decades. Prior to Awake, Rahul was the Global CTO at Cylance and held technical leadership roles in security start-up Bromium as well as McAfee advancing Network and Host Intrusion Prevention technologies. Rahul was named one of Silicon Valley's 40 under 40.
He has a B.S. from Vellore Institute of Technology and a M.S. from BITS Pilani.
Jeff Raymond
Vice President, EOS Software and Services
As Vice President of EOS Software and Services, Jeff Raymond is responsible for the product management of EOS Platforms as well as the associated services and technical support organization. Jeff is a 17 year veteran of the networking industry. He spent 14 years at Cisco in a variety of product management and technical marketing roles. Most recently, Jeff was a Senior Director with product management responsibility for the Nexus Data Center Switching business. Prior to that, Jeff held roles as the technical marketing leader for the Catalyst 6500 Series and then Nexus 7000 Series platforms.
Jeff holds a B.S. from the University of Virginia in Systems Engineering.
Alex Rose
Vice President Hardware Engineering
As Vice President of Hardware, Alex Rose brings more than 25 years of experience and is responsible for all hardware development at Arista. He joined Arista in 2006 as a design engineer and helped develop the very first products, laying the groundwork for world class hardware that has led the industry in innovation and quality. Alex has developed and managed modular, fixed and custom switching platforms. Prior to Arista, Alex was at Cisco on the Catalyst 4000 team for 8 years, developing some of the more state of the art designs.
Alex holds a bachelor's B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Kumar Srikantan
Vice President and General Manager, Zero Trust Campus Networking
Kumar Srikantan is responsible for the revenue and growth of Arista's cognitive campus and zero trust networking. A thirty-year-plus industry veteran, Kumar’s prior work experience is wide reaching across server computing, semiconductor and communications industries with engineering, marketing and executive responsibilities in Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, StratumOne Communications, Cisco Systems and most recently as CEO of Pluribus Networks.
Kumar holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Rice University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
Dhivya Wagner
Vice President Customer Advocacy
As Vice President of Customer Advocacy, Dhivya Wagner is dedicated to the highest level of customer satisfaction as Arista expands its footprint. Dhivya is responsible for Arista’s Global Technical Services organization, consistently rated best in class. With an extensive background at Cisco Systems and Arista Networks, Dhivya brings nearly 20 years of support expertise demonstrating a strong commitment to championing the needs of customers as well as empowering them with proactive problem solving.
Dhivya holds an M.S. in Computer Networking from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Information Technology from the University of Madras, India.
