LDP over RSVP (also known as LDP tunneling) allows LDP-signaled LSPs to use RSVP-TE tunnels as forwarding shortcuts instead of following hop-by-hop IGP paths. Prior to this feature, LDP over RSVP was supported only with IS-IS as the IGP.
