Mounting the Switch

Desktop Mount

This section provides instructions for mounting the switch on the desktop or any flat surface.

Note: Make sure that the device is not stacked and avoid placing anything on the top of the device.
  1. Peel the four rubber feet from the master sheet provided in the kit.
  2. Attach the adhesive rubber feet to the four corners on the bottom of the switch.
    The rubber feet prevents the switch from sliding off the table surface.
  3. Place the switch on the desktop or any flat surface with a connecting power supply.

Magnetic Mount (Optional)

This section provides instructions for mounting the switch using a rubber magnet.

Note: Magnetic mounting is applicable to mount only on the metal surfaces.
Note:
  • Horizontal mount height is limited to 1.6m.
  • Vertical mount height is limited to 1.6m.
  • Ceiling mount is not supported.
  • High vertical wall mount is not supported.
  • Do not pull on the wires/cables connected to the product, as this may cause the product to fall and potentially result in injury.

  1. Attach the 3-in-1 bracket to the switch and secure it with the screws provided in the magnetic mount kit.
  2. Attach the rubber magnet to the 3-in-1 bracket. The rubber magnet should hold the product firmly.
    The size of the rubber magnet is 250mm x 200mm.
  3. Place the device on a flat surface.

L-Bracket Wall Mount (Optional)

This section provides instructions for wall mounting the switch using an L-Bracket.

  1. Position the L-Bracket aligning with the chassis holes on each side of the switch and secure it with screws.
  2. Determine the mounting position to attach the switch to the wall.
  3. Drill four holes (two on each side) 7x25mm deep on the wall.
  4. Insert M4 screw anchor to the four holes drilled on the wall.
  5. Place the chassis, attached with L-Bracket, on the wall aligning with the mounting holes and secure the device with screws.
  6. Tighten the screws to secure the device firmly to the wall.

L-Bracket Under Table Mount (Optional)

This section provides instructions for mounting the switch under the table/desk using an L-Bracket.

Note: Ensure that the flat wooden surface has a minimum thickness of 25mm for under table mounting.
  1. Position the L-Bracket aligning with the chassis holes on each side of the switch and secure it with screws.
  2. Determine the mounting position to attach the switch under the table.
  3. Place the chassis, attached with L-Bracket, under the table and secure the device with screws.
  4. Tighten the screws to secure the device firmly under the table.

DIN Rail Mount (Optional)

This section provides instructions for mounting the switch usinga DIN rail.

  1. Position the DIN mount bracket on the chassis aligning with the screw anchor and secure it with the screws.
  2. Place the DIN rail on the DIN mount bracket by aligning it with the DIN rail holder.
  3. Attach the DIN rail to the mounting bracket with the help of DIN rail hook as shown in the below image.

  4. Press the DIN rail holder firmly and rotate the chassis to secure the device.

Two-post Rack Mount (Optional)

This section provides instructions for rack mounting the switch.

To mount the switch in a rack, you need to assemble the mounting brackets to the chassis, and then attach the brackets to the rack posts.

Attaching Mounting Brackets to the Chassis

This section describes the steps to attach mounting brackets to the switch chassis.

To mount the switch in a two-post rack, you need to assemble the mounting brackets to the chassis, and then attach the brackets to the rack posts.

Note: Ensure that there is about 1U rack spacing between the two devices on the rack.
  1. Align the rack mounting brackets with the chassis of the switch.
  2. Secure the mounting brackets firmly using the screws provided in the rack mounting kit.

Inserting the Switch into the Rack

This section describes the steps to insert the switch into a two-post rack.

Note: Ensure that there is 1RU clearance above the rack mount bracket.
  1. Place the switch into the rack by aligning the mounting bracket with the chassis.
  2. Secure the switch into the rack using the thread screws provided in the rack mount kit.
  3. Position the rack against the rack posts and mount the rack to the equipment rack.
  4. Secure the equipment rack using the screws.

Two-post Rack Mount

This section provides instructions for rack mounting the switch.

To mount the switch in a rack, you need to assemble the mounting brackets to the chassis, and then attach the brackets to the rack posts.

Attaching Mounting Brackets to the Chassis

This section describes the steps to attach mounting brackets to the switch chassis.

To mount the switch in a two-post rack, you need to assemble the mounting brackets to the chassis, and then attach the brackets to the rack posts.

  1. Place the switch into the rack by aligning the mounting bracket with the chassis.
  2. Secure the switch into the rack using the thread screws provided in the rack mount kit.
  3. Position the rack against the rack posts and mount the rack to the equipment rack.
  4. Secure the equipment rack using the screws.

Four-post Rack Mount

This section provides instructions for mounting the switch in a four-post rack.

The switch is mounted onto a four-post rack by assembling two rails onto the rear posts, sliding the switch onto the rails, and then securing the switch to the front posts.

The installation kit provides the following four-post mounting parts:
  • Two six-hole mounting brackets
  • Two rail rods
  • Two rail slides

The rail rods and rail slides assemble into two identical slide rails.

Each chassis side has attachment pins that align with bracket holes. Pin orientation is symmetric and equidistant, supporting bracket placements where the flange is flush with the front panel, flush with the rear panel, or not flush with either panel. Each bracket hole includes a key-opening for placing the bracket flush with the chassis and then locking it into place.

 

Important:

Attachment pins must engage at least five of the six bracket holes.

Attaching Mounting Brackets to the Chassis

This section describes the steps to attach mounting brackets to the chassis.

The following figure displays the front bracket alignment for mounting the switch into a four-post rack.

  1. Align the mounting brackets with the attachment pins to obtain the desired mounting position.
  2. Place the bracket flush to the chassis with the attachment pins protruding through the key openings.
  3. Slide the bracket toward the front flange until the bracket clip locks with an audible click.

    To remove the mounting bracket from the chassis, lift the front edge of the mounting bracket clip with a flat-head screwdriver and slide the bracket away from the front flange (opposite from the installation direction).

Assembling the Rails onto the Equipment Rack

Rail rods and rail slides assemble into two identical rails. Each rail connects a front post to a rear post. When the rails are installed, the switch slides on the rails into the rack. Each bracket includes a screw that attaches the switch to the rail.

Each end of an assembled rail contains two rack plugs. The rails are installed into a rack by inserting the plugs into the rack slots. When installing rails into rack posts with threaded or rounded holes, remove all plugs on both sides of the assembled rails and install them with bolts that fit the rack.

  1. Slide a rail rod into a rail slide until the rail clip makes an audible click.
    The rail clip prevents the rail from extending beyond the maximum supported distance between the front and rear rack posts.

  2. Attach the rail to the right rear rack post by inserting rod-end rack plugs into post slots. The slide assembly must be on the side of the post facing the router.
    If the rack plugs were previously removed, use bolts to attach the rail to the rack.

     

  3. Attach the slide end of the rail to the front post by extending the rail end past the post, then contracting the rail while guiding the rack plugs into the post.
     
  4. Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 for the left posts. Ensure the rails are on the same horizontal level.

Attaching the Switch into the Rack

Once the rails are installed, the switch slides into the rack. Each bracket includes a thumb screw that attaches the switch to the rail.

  1. Lift the switch into the rack and insert the mounting brackets into the slide rails.

  2. Slide the switch on the rails, toward the rear posts, until the mounting bracket flanges are flush with the rail flanges attached to the rack posts.
  3. Attach the bracket flanges to the rack post using the quick-release thumb screws supplied with the brackets.
