Materiality Refresh

Evolving Priorities: In 2025, we conducted a comprehensive materiality assessment refresh to align with shifting regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

This assessment will guide our future ESG programs to maintain close alignment with internal and external stakeholder priorities alongside regulatory expectations. An overview of this assessment is provided below. More information on specific programs and initiatives can be found throughout the other sections of the corporate responsibility website.

Net Zero Ambition

In 2025, our science-based near-term and net zero emission reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi):

  • Overall Net-Zero Target: Arista Networks, Inc. commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) across the value chain by 2050.
  • Near-Term Targets: Arista Networks, Inc. commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year. Arista Networks, Inc. also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 42% within the same timeframe.
  • Long-Term Targets: Arista Networks, Inc. commits to reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2023 base year.
Net Zero

Realizing Our Net Zero Vision

Our science-based targets are aspirational stretch goals, which publicly affirm our commitment to take concrete steps to address our greenhouse gas emissions. Achieving our near-term targets and realizing our long-term net zero ambition requires concerted, focused, and strategic action on our part. Our success will also be dependent on the development of enablers, like global policy and infrastructure development, that are beyond our control. Since establishing our goals, the evolution of essential enablers—including the commercial rollout of vital third-party technologies—has progressed more gradually than our initial projections assumed. However, we remain committed to our SBTi goals, striving to meet our targets amid the dynamic environment in which we operate.

To support our Net Zero aspirations, we have expanded our internal capacity and refined our operational approach to ensure our growth remains sustainable:

  • Dedicated Talent: We have expanded our Net Zero team to provide the specialized expertise required to drive our decarbonization initiatives.
  • Methodological Precision: We are focusing on improving our value chain emissions accounting methodologies and enhancing our data systems to provide higher-resolution insights.
  • Value Chain Engagement: We are strengthening our engagement with both suppliers and customers, recognizing that true progress requires deep collaboration across our value chain.
  • Renewable Energy Procurement: We are advancing our procurement strategies to increase the use of renewable energy within our operations.

Achieving our science-based targets is an ambitious endeavor requiring implementation across our entire value chain. Our strategy most efficiently focuses resources on the highest-impact emission sources associated with contemporary feasible options, with phased, longer-term implementation aligned with the decarbonization of global infrastructure, leveraging internal cross-functional capacity and customer and supplier partnerships.

Progress on our science-based targets:

  • Overall, our global absolute GHG emissions increased by 92% between FY2023 and FY2025, mainly due to substantial growth in our business. However, our annual Scope 1 and 2 carbon intensity fell by 35% YOY, reaching 0.28 tCO2e / $100,000
  • Between FY2023 and FY2025, our total emissions intensity increased by 25%, driven by an expanded, more inclusive operational boundary, improvements in emissions accounting, the strategic acquisition of VeloCloud, and topline revenue growth of 54%
  • Further, 98.96% of the absolute increase in total emissions was associated with product end use by our customers (78.21%), our purchased goods and services (14.47%), and upstream transportation of components and finished products from our factories to direct fulfillment centers (6.27%)
  • We do not yet account for any renewable energy and fuel use by our customers and suppliers because we are working with our customers and suppliers to develop a verifiable system for consistently collecting, documenting, and validating these data to the level of quality needed for external assurance and public disclosure

Climate Risks and Opportunities

Arista recognizes that effectively managing climate-related impacts is fundamental to our long-term viability and growth. We have advanced our analysis of climate-related risks and opportunities to ensure we remain resilient in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Strategic Integration

  • Operational Impact: Findings from this analysis inform our ongoing strategic and operational decision-making processes.
  • Risk Management: Climate considerations are integrated into our broader enterprise risk management (ERM) and business continuity strategies.
  • Transparency: We utilize the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework to communicate our progress and management strategies to stakeholders.

Deep Dive: For a detailed breakdown of our climate risk parameters and mitigation strategies, please refer to the TCFD Index.

Product Circularity and Responsible Waste Management

At Arista, we are reimagining the lifecycle of our technology by developing a comprehensive Product Circularity Vision. This foundational work is designed to move our operations away from a linear "take-make-waste" model and toward a structured, circular ecosystem.

The Three Pillars of our Vision

Our circularity framework focuses on three key lifecycle stages for both our products and their packaging:

Product Circularity

Waste Diversion & Operational Integrity

While we build for the future, we maintain rigorous standards for today’s waste streams. We continue to achieve high rates of waste diversion through partnerships with ISO 14001-certified recyclers.

Product Design and Efficiency

At Arista, we believe that high-performance networking and environmental responsibility are inextricably linked. Our design philosophy focuses on maximizing data throughput while relentlessly minimizing the energy and physical footprint of the centers of data that power the modern world.

Design for Environment (DfE)

Our product design philosophy is guided by DfE principles, which consider environmental impacts at each stage of the product life cycle. We prioritize reducing material weight, selecting environmentally preferable materials, improving energy efficiency, and facilitating recycling, reuse, and refurbishment options—all while continuing to meet our customers' rigorous performance and reliability requirements.

Leading-Edge Energy Efficiency

  • Power Supply Excellence: As of 2025, 97% of all power supplies shipped to customers were rated 80-Plus Platinum or better, significantly reducing energy loss and heat generation.
  • Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO): By enabling the use of LPO on compatible products, our customers can realize up to 20% power savings compared to traditional optics.
  • Generational Gains: We have achieved a dramatic reduction in energy intensity across product generations; our Gen 7 platforms now operate at just 1.25 Watts per 100G bandwidth.

Cooling & Thermal Innovation

  • Airflow Optimization: Our products support versatile front-to-rear or rear-to-front fan configurations to improve data center airflow efficiency and reduce overall energy consumption.
  • Liquid Cooling Investment: Arista is making strategic investments in liquid-cooling innovation to meet the cooling and energy-efficiency needs of next-generation AI infrastructure.
