Arista’s Cloud Networking Platforms Added to U.S. Department of Defense Approved Products List Integrated Tracking System
Arista’s Key 7000 Series Platforms Granted DoD Unified Capabilities Certification
SANTA CLARA, Calif.,--February 8, 2017 -- Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET), an industry leader in software-driven cloud networking solutions for large datacenter and computing environments, announced today that a number of platforms achieved information assurance (IA) interoperability (IO) certification from the Joint Interoperability Command (JITC) and are now included on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL).
“We are excited that our solutions received both Layer 2 and Layer 3 certification. These important certifications attest to the high level of security our cloud networking platforms provide,” said Ashwin Kohli, vice president, Systems Engineering at Arista. “Now DoD customers can utilize Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System) to ensure safe and seamless transitions to the cloud.”
To achieve this certification, Arista’s approved products passed a rigorous testing process to demonstrate that it has been designed and built in compliance with DoD security functional requirements and best practices. Arista’s 7150, 7050, 7250, 7300 and 7500 Series programmable platforms are now listed on the DoD Approved Products Lists Integrated Tracking System (APLITS) by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
Arista switches offer unprecedented scale, performance and density without proprietary protocols, lock-ins or forklift upgrades – allowing DoD agencies to rapidly scale and innovate their cloud networks without being limited in their technology options or network infrastructure designs. Arista platforms are purpose-built for mission-oriented deployments and enable government agencies to cut costs, simplify network infrastructure, standardize on open protocols and automate critical IT processes.
“We congratulate Arista on achieving this valuable certification,” said Will Jones, who oversees the Arista team at Carahsoft, which serves as Arista’s master government aggregator. “DoD agencies transitioning to the cloud can now have peace of mind that their networking system will be secure, while also supporting rapid growth.”
"As our DOD customers transition from legacy to next-generation networks, the HPE partnership with Arista Networks becomes increasingly important to meet our customers’ demanding requirements,” said Joe Ayers, vice president, North America public sector, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “HPE and Arista share a common vision around the need to deliver secure Hybrid IT solutions based on industry-leading software-defined infrastructure ensuring application availability, performance and security.”
Arista is HPE’s preferred networking solution for organizations moving to software-defined and cloud networks. For more information on the HPE Arista partnership, please visit: https://www.hpe.com/us/en/networking/data-center.html
