(“Arista”) is an industry leader in cognitive cloud networking for mission-critical data center and campus environments and builds and delivers innovative, high-quality products and services. Arista’s trademarks and service marks (the “Arista Marks”) reflect the high quality of our products and services and are considered our most valuable intellectual property assets. To preserve and protect the integrity of the Arista Marks, any use of the Arista Marks must comply with these guidelines except as otherwise expressly authorized by Arista.  These Guidelines apply to Arista subscribers, customers, partners, developers, and other third parties who have a license or permission to use the Arista Marks in a written agreement with Arista.

Arista owns a portfolio of trademarks in jurisdictions around the world, including trademarks, service marks, trade dress, logos, slogans, and designs. A list of Arista’s commonly-used trademarks can be found at www.arista.com/trademarks. This list may be updated from time to time without notice and may not be comprehensive.

Request for Use

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Some parties may have already negotiated the use of the Arista Marks as part of other agreements. In case of discrepancies between these terms and any such agreement, the already-negotiated agreement shall prevail. In addition to following the terms of any agreement with Arista Networks, Inc., the reference in any such agreements between Arista and a reseller, licensee, customer, or other third-party to a “Trademark Usage Policy,” Arista’s trademark guidelines, or something similar refers to these guidelines.  The right to use any of Arista’s marks may in Arista’s sole discretion be terminated at any time. Arista intends to take all appropriate measures to preserve the strength of and retain its exclusive rights to use its marks.

Proper Use of the Arista Marks

To prevent the Arista Marks from being infringed, misused, or diluted, any use of the Arista Marks must comply with these guidelines: 

  • Always use appropriate notice symbols
    • Use the ® symbol when a mark is registered in the national trademark office of the country in which the goods are sold or the services are provided.
    • Use the TM symbol for products and the SM symbol for services to denote ownership of marks that are not registered. 
    • Use of the TM or SM symbols should be in superscript or subscript whenever possible. 
  • Always distinguish the Arista Marks from surrounding text
    • Use appropriate layout and formatting to emphasize the Arista Marks.
    • Do not place the Arista Marks adjacent to another company’s name, logo, trademark, or product.
  • Always use the Arista Marks without any modification or abbreviation
    • Do not abbreviate or hyphenate the Arista Marks.
    • Do not alter the color, design, size, or the look of the Arista Marks.
  • Always use the Arista Marks as adjectives and not as nouns or verbs
    • Use the Arista Marks next to a generic noun term.
      • E.g. WRONG: “EOS can deliver workflow automation…”
         CORRECT: “EOS® network operating system can deliver workflow automation…”
    • Do not use the Arista Marks in a plural or possessive form. 
      • EXCEPTION: Arista Networks, Inc. is not only a trademark used to identify Arista’s products and services; it also serves as Arista’s company name.  When used to refer to the company, it is not an Arista Mark and can be used in possessive form.
  • Always use the Arista Marks truthfully 
    • Clearly indicate that the Arista Marks refer to Arista’s goods and services and are owned by Arista Networks, Inc.
    • Do not use the Arista Marks in a way that falsely implies a relationship, affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by Arista Networks, Inc.  
  • Always indicate Arista’s ownership of the Arista Marks
    • Any written materials including the Arista Marks should notify others that Arista owns the rights to such marks. The following statement should be placed on the same page or screen that uses the Arista Marks: “[The Arista Marks included in the document] are trademarks of Arista Networks, Inc. and its subsidiaries in the U.S. and/or other countries.”

Prohibited Use of the Arista Marks

  • Do not use the Arista Marks in a way that is likely to cause confusion as to the source of a product or service.
  • Do not use the Arista Marks in a way that implies an affiliation, partnership, association, sponsorship or endorsement by Arista Networks, Inc., unless you have express written permission from Arista, through an agreement with Arista.
  • Do not use Arista’s corporate logo in any materials without the express written permission of Arista.
  • Do not copy or imitate any Arista trade dress, type style, artwork, logo, packaging, or the overall commercial impression of Arista’s publications, including its website.
  • Do not use or attempt to register any mark that is confusingly similar to any of the Arista Marks.
  • Do not use or attempt to register any domain name that incorporates any of the Arista Marks or the Arista Networks name.
  • Do not use an Arista Mark in a disparaging, libelous, defamatory, or degrading manner.
  • Do not abbreviate or alter an Arista Mark.
