What's New

What's New in Version 6.4.0

Feature Description
Customizable Alerts Orchestrator supports configuring custom events that automatically send alert notifications through webhooks to target recipients when a configured event occurs. Orchestrator monitors and audits alert notification delivery status. For more information, see:
Custom Applications Enterprise Users - Create custom applications and select them when creating Business Policies and Firewall rules. For more information, see Configure Custom Applications.
Configuring ECMP for Edges and Profile Use multiple interfaces in the LAN network to maximize throughput and resilience. To route these paths, use BGP, OSPF, or static routing. For more information, see Configure ECMP for Edges and Configure ECMP for Profiles.
Configuring LACP on Edges LACP implements load balancing algorithms to distribute traffic across the aggregated links. It redirects packets of the same flow to the same link based on a hashing algorithm, such as those using source and destination MAC, IP, or port information, using the full bandwidth of all member links. When a link in the LACP group fails, traffic automatically redistributes across the remaining active links. Traffic redistribution ensures fault tolerance and maintains network connectivity. For more information, see Configure LACP on Edges.
DPI Engine Upgrade The Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) Engine upgrade significantly enhances application classification capabilities, adding support for over 700 new applications. For more information, see DPI Engine Upgrade.
Enterprise Network Overview Improvements

The Network Overview dashboard is enhanced to display network traffic usage and configuration data for an Enterprise in two separate tabs, and the traffic widgets are made more interactive and clickable. Selecting a link number in the Activated Edges or Links section opens the Edges page with the corresponding filter applied.

Dashboard functionality provides a time range selection for traffic usage data to display. For more information, see Monitor Network Overview.

Edge to Edge Encryption SD-WAN Administrators - From the Orchestrator, turn Encryption on or off for WAN links. For more information, see Edge to Edge Encryption.
Firewall Rule with VLAN Behavior Enhancement When using a VLAN to match source or destination traffic in a firewall policy, you can now specify the VLAN type (End-to-End or Local) to be used by the firewall engine as part of VLAN rule matches. For more information, see Configure Firewall Rule.
Object Group Scalability Improvement

Currently, the maximum configuration is 1000 Object Groups per Enterprise. Release 6.4.0 increases this limit to 2000 (Default) and is configurable using a system property vco.object.groups.max.count.per.enterprise. Also, the maximum allowed number of object group associations per Edge and its Profile is set to 1000 by default.

For more information, see Configure Object Groups.

Manage SD-WAN/SASE Entitlements and Utilization Data Using the Orchestrator UI Direct Enterprise Users - View and manage SD-WAN/SASE licenses and utilization data using the Orchestrator UI instead of logging into the VeloCloud SASE Licensing portal. For more information, see Licensing.
Network Interface Stats Monitoring Enterprise Users - View interface stats, real time stats, and historical interface data, on the Monitor > Edges > System Orchestrator dashboard. For more information, see Network Interface Statistics Monitoring.
Reduce SD-WAN Control Traffic on Wireless Link Enterprise Users - To address high data usage on wireless links, use Orchestrator to configure the Wireless Link Management settings at the Profile and Edge levels. See:
Route Remap Refactoring The Default Originate Filter option controls how the default route is advertised. For more information, see Configure BGP from Edge to Underlay Neighbors for Profiles and Configure BGP Over IPsec from Gateways.
Self-Service Orchestrator Branding Enterprise Users - VeloCloud Edge Cloud Orchestrator supports branding the Orchestrator User Interface (UI) by applying a company name, logo, and colors at the customer level. For more information, see Orchestrator Branding - Enterprise.
