The Arista 7280R3 Series FlexRoute engine and EOS NetDB provides the scalability to support Internet IP routing scale with the lowest power consumption and fast convergence scaling to 5M routes with a choice of flexible forwarding profiles for a wide variety of network roles.

Wire speed L2 and L3 forwarding are combined with strong encryption and advanced features for network virtualization, open monitoring and network analysis, resiliency and architectural flexibility with deterministic performance. Deep packet buffers and large routing tables allow for Internet peering applications and the broad range of interfaces and density choice provides deployment flexibility.

All Arista 7280R3 Series support FlexRoute™ engines providing the scalability to support Internet scale routing. The Arista 7280R3A Modular Series are purpose built 100G and 400G systems built for the highest performance environments, and to meet the needs of the largest scale data centers and service providers. They deliver scalable L2 and L3 resources and high density with advanced features for network monitoring, precision timing and network virtualization to deliver scalable and deterministic network performance while simplifying designs and reducing Opex.

The modular 7280R3A system provides 14.4 Tbps of packet processing in an extremely compact and power efficient 4RU form factor providing flexibility to deploy a range of interface types. Line rate performance with up to 144 ports of 100G or 36 ports of 400G is combined with rich functionality for a wide range of open networking solutions including large scale layer 2 and layer 3 cloud designs, overlay networks, virtualized or traditional enterprise data center networks. Deep packet buffers and large routing tables allow for internet peering and secure data center interconnect applications and provide complete deployment flexibility.

Each 7280R3 modular system is configurable with SFP, QSFP and OSFP/QSFP-DD interfaces to support connectivity from 10G to 400G and supports dense 400G-ZR DWDM. Further options include large scale routing and policy resources and Arista TunnelSec for strong encryption at layer 2 or layer 3.

All elements of the 7280R3A modular are field replaceable, and optimized for simple maintenance, a broad range of network interfaces with a choice of industry standard interfaces allowing for easy transitions to the latest 100G/400G networks. 1-400G Wire-speed Encryption

Deploying high performance, scalable bulk data encryption cost effectively is a major challenge for cloud data centers, enterprises and service providers. Arista 7280R3M, 7280R3AM and 7280R3AK Series platforms provide wire speed AES-256-GCM strong encryption for mixed speeds from 1G to 400G offering comprehensive choices for secure connectivity within facilities and over the wide area at an efficient cost point.

All 7280R3M, R3AM and R3AK systems provide standards-based IEEE 802.1AE MACsec for line-rate frame encryption and authentication. This ensures confidentiality as well as providing anti-replay protection and therefore confidence in the integrity of encrypted traffic.

Arista TunnelSec provides advanced encryption and is available on 7280R3AM and R3AK systems. TunnelSec is a standards-based approach to increasing the performance and utility of strong encryption for modern networks. TunnelSec adds support for IPsec and VXLANsec in addition to MACsec. IPsec and VXLANsec both enable the construction of encrypted IP tunnels that traverse multiple unencrypted hops between endpoints. IPsec operates router-to-router, while VXLANsec provides VTEP level integration for simple deployment of encrypted overlays. Both IPsec and VXLANsec provide a solution to line-rate strong encryption across third party infrastructure for WAN or DCI deployments.

MACsec, IPsec and VXLANsec solutions leverage AES-256-GCM for strong bulk encryption and operate at full line rate. The flexibility provided by offering encryption at different network layers enables a broad range of deployments and removes the need for additional encryption devices while providing orders of magnitude improvements in latency and throughput when compared to traditional appliances.
