Field Notice 0080

March 19, 2024

An upgrade to the L3 Leaf Spine Studio in CloudVision includes configuration changes which will modify the MLAG domain name configuration on devices. If these changes are accepted and deployed onto devices in an EVPN deployment, there is a possibility of traffic loss to the connected hosts.

Field Notice 0079

January 9, 2024

In a VXLAN deployment with switches deployed in MLAG pairs, where the Virtual-ARP functionality is used, an ISSU (In-Service Software Upgrade) from an older version of EOS software to EOS 4.30.2F or EOS 4.30.3M or an ISSU from either of these two releases to a newer EOS software may result in traffic loss until both switches in the MLAG pair are upgraded. Any FX releases based either off 4.30.2 or 4.30.3 are also similarly affected.

Field Notice 0078

Date: December 14, 2023

This field notice is regarding restriction of EOS software image architecture support on certain SKUs with 4GB and 8GB of RAM. Arista EOS is developed on a single codebase and has supported both 32-bit and 64-bit code architectures, with no difference in feature and function support. Starting with EOS release 4.32.0F, targeted to be released between March and April 2024, to optimize platform capabilities, systems listed below will only support either 32-bit or 64-bit EOS images.

Field Notice 0073

July 25, 2023

It has been identified that with a wide variety of physical tolerances there are occasions where an optic or cable is difficult to remove from a switch. A new optic extraction tool is now available to assist with QSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP removal and prevent damage to the switch port in cases where an optic is difficult to extract.

Field Notice 0072

May 10, 2023

In very rare circumstances some models of the DCS-7280SR3-48YC8 and DCS-7280SR3K-48YC8 may exhibit buffer memory related errors. This is caused by a misprogramming of the power profile in the voltage regulator. The incorrect power profile may result in HBM CRC errors and packet drops. The problem is corrected by a new version of the voltage regulator programming delivered through an EOS SWIX.
